Executive Board:
President and Vice-President: Danielle Munsell Howard & Rob Howard
The chief executive officer of the Club and ensures that the vision, direction and objectives of the Club are met. Preside over meetings. Ensure that all orders and activities are carried out effectively. Vice-President assumes duties of the President in their absence and help oversee committees.
Treasurer and Assistant Treasurer: Meigan O’Leary and Jenn LaVine
Collect dues and care for funds. Keep accurate record of receipts and payments, annual reports, prepare forms such as tax-exempt status and tax forms. The Assistant Treasurer shadows the current treasurer to become familiar with the role to take over the following year.
Secretary and Assistant Secretary: Jeanna Canapari
Record all proceedings from meetings, Communicate minutes and other necessary information to the membership. Assistant Secretary shadows current secretary to become familiar with the role to take over the following year.
Committee Chairs and Other Volunteer activities
Pasta Parties Chair: Chelsea Wang
Team Pasta Parties happen every Saturday from 6:00 pm – 10:00 pm at someone’s home. The host family provides the pasta/ main course and the home. Freshman, sophomores, and juniors take turn bringing desserts, bread, and beverages. The fencers have a great time eating, socializing, playing games, and bonding. The Pasta Party Coordinator finds volunteer host or co-host families, coordinates the pasta parties at different homes, sends out email invites and reminders to the team.
Publicity Chairs: Send information, stats on meets and photographs to the newspaper about the team.
Novice Tournament Chair(s): Madhura Chavan
Organizes the concession stand for the novice tournament which is hosted at Guilford. Includes organizing volunteers for planning, running the concession stand, set up, clean up, concession donations, making signs, ordering pizza/subs etc. Generally, all parents (except parents of Novice Fencers) volunteer for an hour or two on the day of the tournament.
Senior Night Chair:
A non-senior parent(s) organizes the senior gifts for our team as well as the opposing team for a night meet where the seniors are recognized and celebrated. The Chairs also organizes refreshments for the team and parents after the meet and coordinates the volunteers.
Banquet Chair (s):
Organizes volunteers for the planning, the set up, clean up, program, awards etc. of the end of the season celebration for the team and their families.
Car Wash Chair (s):
Coordinate with Pete Palumbo to reserve the date and possible rain date (usually in May). Organize volunteers (2-hour shift to help supervise and wash cars) and snacks. Palumbo provides everything needed for the carwash itself.
Apparel Chair(s): Sara Trotter & Tracy Underwood
Collects and place orders for team t-shirts, socks, senior jackets and state sweatshirts.
Social Media Chair: Sean Libby
Manage the Facebook and Instagram page. Post calendars, information and photographs
Website Volunteer: Lara Tagliapietra
